friends.
This week we had some good times. On Wednesday we went the Long Beach Aquarium with our friends Em, E and N. The boys loved seeing their old friends. So much that E and Bentley embraced when the saw each other and then held hands while walking around the aquarium (E is a boy!). And I loved hanging out with Em and was glad I got to celebrate her birthday with her.
Our other L.A. friends Paige, Nicholas and Ryker came and spent the night at our house. We had big plans to go the beach but that was spoiled with a wet morning. So we went to one of my favorite breakfast places - I Love Bagels - and got some hot chocolate (my favorite in the world) and a chocolate chip bagel toasted with cream cheese. Then we took the 4 boys to run around down at the Dana Point Harbor. We had a blast just chillin' with our friends. We also made a Cafe Rio trip in the same day and met up with some other friends who luckily live in close!
We have been blessed to have met some amazing friends while we were in L.A. and we pray the will be our friends forever! And we are holding their stuff hostage so they have to hang out with us again! (Next time I'm taking the fish hostage!)

the rustic alley.
My great friend Allison has started a blog. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't share it?

rain.
My boys have always loved the rain. And I love the rain too so I never deprive them of playing in it even if it's muddy. Our new home doesn't come with as much mud as the last, but it has lots of little rivers that drain into the storm drain making a perfect place to dump berries and other objects and watch them float down the street. The boys were so excited when they woke up to rain the other day. They rushed to put on their raincoats and rainboots and ran outside. The rain had stopped and they were sad. Luckily it came back a couple of minutes later and they played until it stopped. Gaige didn't put on his hood, he likes the rain in his hair! A few days later it started to rain and they woke up and did the same drill again, but the rain had stopped and didn't come back for awhile. Now they are very interested in thunder and lightning and like to watch youtube videos about it. Lovin' my rain monkeys.first day of preschool.
The boys both started preschool on Sept. 6th. They are going Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 12:30 pm and are in different classes at the same school. Their teachers are awesome and they both love school as always. Bentley even went and found his teacher at the playground when we picked him up the other day just to give her a hug. And on the first day of school Gaige was bound and determined to go play with his brother when he saw him out at recess. Somehow I think I ended up as Gaige's teacher's room mom which is fine because I am so used to running the show with them it will be a good way to meet people and have some kind of clue as to what is going on.
The kid's can't take peanut butter to school because it is a peanut free school so I asked Bentley what kind of sandwich he wanted for lunch. His reply: "cheese, pickles and tomatoes." So that is what I made him and he liked it. Gaige went with pastrami and cheese. They are so silly. Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself while they are at school.
matt's 31st birthday.
Matt worked on his birthday and the day after so we celebrated a night early. The boys spent the night with their cousins at their Aunt Carrie's house and had a blast. Matt and I didn't do anything too exciting, but it was nice to hang out just the two of us. We went to Red Robin and stuffed ourselves with onion rings, fries and hamgurbers (that is how Gaige says it) and then rented a movie from Red Box. Of course when I picked the boys up the next day they didn't want to leave. Their car seats were such a pain to get out of Carrie's car that I left her house and went directly to Target to get some booster seats. Best $40 I've spent in awhile!
On Sunday Matt's sisters Carrie and Lori, and his mom and Richard came over for dinner and to celebrate. The boys had so much fun with their aunties, grandma and grandpa as always.
