gaige.

Gaige is 4 now.  He loves bananas, pickles, everything sweet and most of all cereal.  He thinks the world is going to end if he has to stop what he is doing to go to the bathroom.  He loves to be silly and is very into punching right now.  Luckily his punching isn't usually directed at anybody, just Bentley every once in awhile.  He loves to ride his razor scooter, catch bugs, and do anything outside. 

Gaige told me last night that he did not turn into a booger.  I told him if he kept eating his boogers he would turn into a giant booger.  He hasn't eaten them for about a week now.  He told me today that 4 year olds don't pick their noses.  He miraculously didn't pick his nose all day.  Now we just have to get him to stop doing all of the other gross things he does.  These two took awhile so it will be long time till all of the gross things he does are no longer habits. 

He loves his new baby sister, Elle.  He comes in every morning and asks to hold her.  He sings her songs, talks to her and lights up when he is around her.  He is showing some great potential of being an amazing big brother and protecter with his love for punching!

meet miss elle.

Close your eyes and imagine the easiest labor ever...No pain (thanks to the drugs), great nurses, quick, hardly any pushing required, no pain afterwards, and a beautiful reward at the end. That is exactly how my labor with Elle was. Sorry to rub it in! Matt and I arrived at the hospital at 7 am on Friday, April 6th. After the millions of questions, and hooking me up to everything they started the petocin at around 8:20 am. My doctor broke my water about an hour later and then right after that I got my epidural. At 11:30 am Elle was ready to make her debut, but of course I had to wait for the doctor to get there. 5 pushes later and she was born at 11:42 am. 7 pounds 5 ounces and 18 inches long. She looked a lot like Gaige. They gave her to me right away and she stayed with me for at least the first hour and a half.

We spent all the time we could in the hospital since the boys were super sick. We came home Easter afternoon. Since we've been home she has been a dreamy baby. Sleeps well at night, hardly ever cries, and burps like her mom (before I got married). We're crossing our fingers she stays this way.

The boys adore her and Matt and I are smitten. I can't believe we waited so long to have her.

Bentley - "I do NOT like babies." (Good luck with that, buddy!)

Gaige - "I want to help feed the baby."

Bentley - "I want to mix up the baby's milk and feed her."

At least she won't go hungry =).

birthday party.

Matt wanted to do the boys' birthday party at Chuck E Cheese this year. So I put him in charge of the party. The boys wanted a Star Wars party. I was going to make a Yoda cake, but Bentley told me he would rather have cupcakes...awesome! The boys had a ton of fun.

Bentley was sick on his birthday so I let him watch TV all morning. Then Grams took us to lunch at Ruby's and the boys went to my parents' house for the rest of the day. Bentley got the "bike he always wanted" for his birthday. Since he wasn't feeling well he just rode it around the house a little bit.
