shut it.
Today I was walking with my friend Bonnie and some old guy walked out of his house to throw something in his garbage bin and shook his head in disapproval of something. So I said "Good morning" to him. In response he said, "You are endangering your children's lives." I said, "Thanks for the advice." I had stopped on the side of the street to give the boys a drink of water out of my water bottle, but apparently I was not far enough off to the side and was endangering my kids' lives. There hadn't been a car drive on that particular street for the past 30 minutes!
2 days ago I went to Toys R Us and had both boys in the stroller. In order to put Bentley in the car I parked the stroller, with Gaige in it, behind the car because there wasn't enough room to park it between cars as my stroller is a double wide. Some lady said to me, "You should probably move him over on the side of the car." I told her "Thanks, but I'm not really worried about it."
Last week some lady in Rite Aid came over to talk to Bonnie and I about our kids. She decided to tell me that she was glad they were mine and not hers even though the boys were being super good.
So here is the question...Why do people feel like they have the right to say something like that? They don't know me, they don't know my kids, they don't know what my life is like? So next time my response to any of these comments will be, "What makes you think you can say something like that to me?"
It is ridiculous how many people gawk at me and the boys, how many people stop me to talk to me, make comments while they walk by, stop to talk to the boys, ask if they are twins....I am so sick of people! Even if they are nice I am sick of talking to complete strangers about my kids. So please don't even look in my general direction and keep your freaking comments to your stupid self!
Thanks for letting me vent. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

10 people love me:
Amen! Just the other day someone told me I shouldn't hold Ethan the way I was because I was going to ruin my spine. What the heck?
I've already prepared myself to tell people to get outta my face...I'm not taking crap from people! Go raise your own kids if you've got such great opinions! (This could be me having raging end of pregnancy hormones...haha)
Man, u r notorious for getting attacked by tactless, rude people! I'm sorry and hope that it stops! You should definitely let whomever know next time that you don't appreciate their rude advice.
you've given me a new idea for a post on my blog now...with you people are always telling you what's on their mind about your kids. With me, people are always telling me who they think Gibby looks like..duh! I'm with him 24/7. Do I care who he looks like? I can see how you feel. Grr. Anyway, I can't wait to see you next week!
didn't some lady tell mom that she was glad we were mom's and not hers when we were little? I think mom said, "me too." sounds about right.
PS - did you know you're breaking the honor code?!!!!
Old cranky people are the worse. They think that they remember what it was like and that it gives them a right to say something. It is annoying.
Seriously. I had a guy get all crazy at me at the grocery store today. The kids were being pretty good (at the moment), E was SITTING in the big portion of the shopping car and the guy started freaking out that E was going to tip the whole shopping cart. "You better watch your son. He's going to fall"...blah, blah, blah. Thanks buddy, I think I've got it covered!
Giving him a hard look was the best I could manage at the moment.
HAHAHA!! Jaime! The title of the post SHUT IT is perfect! you are so great!
I am adding you to our blog! I am glad I found yours!
I'm in utah now and i'm convinced that here, kids are invisible....nobody cares, nobody thinks they are cute, nobody stares...maybe you should move here! Yesterday i told claire we should go outside and play and she asked "benty?". so sad...hope you guys are doing well.
What crackheads. Who are these people and what makes them childhood experts? I'm glad that you respond- it would be rediculous to just take those comments in the pants.
