Yes, another week at the Johnson household has flown by. On Monday I decided that I was bored and hadn't seen my parents for a good 2 weeks or so so I hopped in the car with the boys and drove home. Keep in mind that "hopping" in the car entails packing diapers, formula, clothes, swimsuits, snacks, sippy cups, the stroller and everything else I will possibly need, and carrying it on my back while holding two boys. So it is more like "missioning" into the car.
While we were there we got to see our amazing friend Nicole Hammond and her daughter Madison (email me pictures, girl). We met them at Tamarack beach in Carlsbad and had tons of fun playing with them. We also did a bit of shopping for some curtains and toys. And the rest of the time Bentley entertained us all with his golfing, throwing, and dancing skills.
Another highlight this week included the fire alarm in our apartment building going off at 6:45 am. Yes, the very loud, screeching alarms in our bedrooms went off at the butt crack of dawn! The lights in the hallways were even flashing. Matt walked around and couldn't see or smell anything so we just stayed put. The boys slept through it even though the alarm is right above Bentley's crib. Our neighbor came over and told us that we really should come outside with the rest of the building because the firemen will want to check each apartment. So we grabbed the boys and joined our sleepy neighbors on the playground. It was almost like a forced neighborhood block party. There was no fire, but at least the alarms weren't as loud outside. And the firemen just came and turned the alarm off and we went back inside.
something new.
Bentley now folds his arms when Matt comes home from school. He does this because he knows that it is time to eat when Daddy walks through the door. And today he said Amen. He also sustained the new ward clerks and 2nd counselor in the bishopric. He had a very spiritual Sunday.
Gaige and Bentley slept in until 8:15 this morning. Unfortunately, Matt and I didn't because we are so used to waking up at 6:15 am to give Gaige his binky. I'm sure this was just an abnormal and freakish occurrence and it will never happen again.
Gaige has a new "fluffy". Our family friend Janet sent a gift for Gaige and part of it was this little minky blanket with ribbon tags on it. It's about 12 inches square and full of cuddly goodness. He loves it. He loves to cuddle it, gnaw on it, and sleep with it. We call it "fluffy". And Fluffy makes him happy. Bentley even cuddled with it for a minute in sacrament meeting today.
here are some happy pictures.
Watch out George Clooney, Gaige is the new George.

Watch out Brad Pitt, Bentley is the new Brad.

Bentley loves to give hugs to his girl.

Church boys. Don't worry, Bentley is definitely sporting a faux hawk with his skull and cross bone Vans. And Gaige is stylin' it up in his Hurley shirt that is size 6m. As for the one in the middle, he looks good in anything. What handsome men I have.

super gaige.
So this morning I put Gaige on his tummy on a blanket on the floor. He kept his head up as he watched Bentley and Davis playing. Then he rolled from his tummy to his back and then back to his tummy. And then he scooted about a foot! What? How old is he? 3 1/2 months old! He is crazy! Bring it on little baby, I don't know how much longer I can carry your 16 pounds of dead weight around!
finally a diet that works.
Remember that one time I was on a diet? OK, those who really know me know that I've been on a diet my entire life and I am the queen of dieting. I've done the Beverly Hills Diet, LA Weightloss, Weight Watchers, and just about every fad diet you can think of. And now I am doing Nutrisystem. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It is the easiest diet I've ever been on. I am already less than pre-Bentley weight and trying to lose another 10 pounds. I don't have to think about what I am going to eat, don't have to cook, measure, or plan. It rocks! And I highly recommend it for anyone that wants to lose weight without obsessing over it. Just call before hand and ask me which food to order because some of it is really gross! I pretty much eat cereal, protein bars, pizza, and a brownie every day.
