Dear Family and Friends,
As we reflect on this past year we can’t help but feel blessed! We are grateful for our loving Heavenly Father, His plan for us—his children, and we are deeply grateful for His Son, Jesus Christ. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the loving support we have received this year.
Matt graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in June. He graduated with numerous awards recognizing his hard work and dedication over the past years, including the Dean’s Award. These awards also served as validation to me that all of those long hours and time away from home were worth it. After graduation we moved home to Orange County, where it all began., so Matt could start his own dental practice in Monarch Beach. We love living in San Juan Capistrano and are ecstatic to be living closer to family. We do miss our friends in Los Angeles a ton (more than they will ever know), though we are happy to not have to endure the traffic, tiny apartment, and harshness of the big city.
Bentley is now almost 5 years old. He loves going to preschool and always has a slew of girls following him around. He enjoys all sports, playing at the playground, drawing, riding his razor scooter, and is obsessed with Star Wars Legos on the Wii. He and Gaige play together for hours on end, without beating each other up, quite an accomplishment. He is a great helper around the house just like his daddy. He carries the laundry basket down, vacuums, cleans the windows and helps wash the car. His favorite places are the beach and the pool. He loves primary and has already memorized the first four Articles of Faith. He finally weighs more and is taller than Gaige!
Gaige is almost 4 years old. He is a homebody, probably because he knows his blanket and monkey are nearby. He loves to play with his super heroes, trains and animals. Once in awhile he sneaks away up to his room to take a snooze. He tells us that we are the best mommy and daddy ever and is great at saying ‘thank you.” Gaige loves to help cook and bake, and helps me put laundry away. He is gentle and kind, most of the time. He is always singing his own songs and has a happy go lucky attitude.
Over the past few months the boys have started getting more independent which has been great timing since we are expecting our first girl in April. The boys are excited to have their own baby, but are a little disappointed it isn’t a boy. Bentley even tried to get me to change her name to one of his girlfriends’ names! My pregnancy hasn’t been too bad, though I was actually sick at the beginning this time. I thought I was tired just having two boys, but now I’m even more tired! I’ve still managed to be a room mom, sew aprons and baby stuff to sell, teach my CTR 6 primary class, and keep the boys entertained!
We think of you often and hope that your holiday season is filled with love and joy!
With Love,
Matt, Jaime, Bentley, and Gaige Johnson
